Djuma Expeditions 2025

A journey home to the wild you’ve known for years.

For those who’ve watched the wild from afar ... it’s time to step into the frame.

For decades, Djuma has brought the untamed beauty of the bush into the homes and hearts of a global family. For the past while we have closed Djuma to guests. Now, once again, for a limited number of expeditons, we invite you to cross that threshold and live the story in person. Walk where Karula once walked. Watch a leopard silhouette emerge from the golden light. This isn’t just a safari—it’s a homecoming.

Tumbeta House: Your Home in the Bush

Tumbeta House is a warm and welcoming safari home nestled in the heart of Djuma. With just three rooms—Safari, Karula, and Hosana—it offers an intimate, exclusive space for shared adventure.

Wake with the sun. Sip your coffee while the bush stirs to life. Then set off into the wild on your first drive of the day. Djuma is unscripted, and so is your experience. No two mornings are ever the same.

Return for a hearty breakfast, a midday rest, and perhaps some time in the hide. Then back out as golden light paints the landscape.

Evenings are spent around the fire, sharing stories, photography tips, and the quiet magic of the African night.

Meet Your Hosts

They know these lands like home—because they’ve called it that. These are the guides whose footsteps are etched into Djuma’s story. Some return after decades, drawn back to the wild paths that shaped them. Others have never truly left. Together, they’ll welcome you not just on safari—but home.

Chris Stamper – A guide, photographer, and father who lived at Djuma with his young family. Deeply intuitive, quietly wise.

Villiers Steyn – Wildlife photographer and guide. Knows leopards like few others.

Nick de Jongh – Djuma’s original voice. Steady, calm, with an unmatched love for wild things.

Aubrey Ngobeni – The heart of the land. Djuma’s resident guide and longtime steward of its secrets.
